Sales Lessons from Olivander

Big Harry Potter fan over here. And because I can’t help but combine two things I love, let’s talk about how Olivander sold Harry his wand.

What do you notice in this classic scene?

Did you notice that it takes a couple of wands before they find the right one for Harry? There was some back and forth, some considerations, some trying out.

In other words, the sale was a process. This is an important lesson: Making a sale is a process.

This is especially true when selling a higher-ticket item, like consulting or a premium online course. It’s not an impulse buy.

Treat it like a process. Be like Olivander.
