School always came easily to me. I had a consistent 3.7 GPA without too much effort. Middle school, high school, college — it didn’t matter: 3.7. But never a 4.0.

I like to think the 0.3 shortfall was where I had fun 🙂

Seriously though, getting a 4.0 is hard. I always thought those guys who strived for 4.0s took school way too seriously. While they were studying, I was out getting into trouble with my friends.

Yes, part of me regrets not working harder. But getting away from those books and getting out into the real world, and interacting with people, taught me something.

And now, in a career where relationships are the key to success, I can’t help but feel the 0.3 was more valuable than the 3.7.

Me running to make my college graduation because I was up late having fun the night before.
